I designed two medals for the Dublin Marathon: one for the full race and one for the sub-marathon. The models shown below displays the full marathon medal as well as sub-marathon medal with ribbons present in bout designs.
I created two medal concepts and a single ribbon. The Phoenix medal represents the half-marathon held at Phoenix Park, while the Wren medal—symbolising freedom and royalty in folklore—honours the full
marathon winner.
This project was part of my third year at NCAD, during which I designed two 2025 Dublin Marathon medals. The designs for the full and sub-marathons draw directly from the historical and symbolic context of the race.
